Cut the
red cabbage into pieces, clean and drain. Put in a big pot with cold water, boil. When it starts boiling, remove from the heat and drain. Peel and mince the
onions. Peel the
apples and cut into pieces. Heat the oil in a big casserole, sauter the
onion and the
apples at minimum heat for 10 minutes. Add the
red cabbage, some salt, the sultanas, sugar, cinnamon, clove and half the
lemon juice. Mix and simmer for an hour and a half, stirring from time to time. Remove the cinnamon. Check if enough salt and sprinkle with the remainig
lemon juice before being served.
