Cherries in syrup
Time required:30 minServings:For 4 servings
Ingredients
1 kg Jerte cherries
1.5 kg sugar
Directions
Clean and bone the cherries. Soak in cold water for 2 hours. Drain and cook for 5 minutes in boiling water. Put in a bowl with cold water and leave for 2 hours changing the water twice. Drain on a cloth. Put the sugar in a pot and mix with 2 glasses water, dissolve and cook for 10 minutes. Allow to cool. Put the drained cherries in sterilized pots and add the cold syrup until covered. Cherries with syrup, well-drained, can substitute fresh ones in certain desserts out of cherry season.
