200 g butter or margarine, softened 200 g caster sugar 250 g sifted self raising flour pinch of salt 75 g cup finely chopped hazelnuts 450 g can red cherries, drained & chopped few drops vanilla essence
Directions
Pre-heat the oven to 200ºC, gas mark 6. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add flour and salt and mix together. Stir in hazelnuts, cherries and vanilla. Chill for 30 minutes. Shape the mix into small balls and place them on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes or until the cookies are lightly browned.
