The litchee has multiple healing properties. For such purposes, people use the fruit, the bone, the rind and the roots, and they are both applied externally or internally. They heal, among many others, stomach aches, hernias and throat sore.

In China, to where the litchee is native, people confer many medicinal properties to this fruit. The pulp of the litchee produces corporal fluids and favours the blood. It is a good anti-inflammatory, recommended in case of polydipsia, hiccup, stomach ache, carbuncle, tooth ache, external haemorrhages and hernias. The rind is good for dysentery and eczemas, whereas the stone and the bark of the root are used to heal hernias, swellings and throat sore.

It may be consumed boiled or macerated in wine. In order to use them externally, they are mashed and we can use the paste, or we can also make a powder with them. The rind, stone and root are cooked.
