Shallots are usually prepackaged in tubular meshes and trays covered with plastic. In those areas where this species has a given importance, like France, there exists a wide variety of packages.

For instance, they use tubular meshes of 250g, 500g or 1kg. They also use plastic bags of 250g, transparent plastic trays of 250g wrapped up in plastic film, clusters (prepared with the stem) of 500g and 1kg and tubular meshes with cardboard inside, weighing between 500g and 1kg.

The packaging is made in trays of 5 to 10kg, plastic boxes of 10kg, mini-boxes of 100kg or mesh sacks of 5kg.
